Another look...Very practical and easy to use bolt latch. Just "push the button" to remove bolt.
The Gew '88 was unique for its time in that it used a clip. Cartridges were pushed up by a follower "arm". Once all cartridges were fired, the clip dropped out of the bottom of the magazine. Clip slides into magazine and is held in place by a latch, which is released by a small button in front of the trigger.
